Visa Requirements

Below is an outline of the visa requirements for the New Zealand Internship Program and the New Zealand Student and Trainee visa:

  • Be between 18 and 35 years old

  • Candidates must be currently enrolled in a college or university in a relevant diploma or degree course (for example: Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, Restaurant Management)

  • The internship application must be part of the college curriculum. Your college must certify, in writing, that this is the case (we can assist with the contents of the letter)

  • Have temporary equivalent to $8,000 New Zealand Dollars ‘show’ funds​

    • This can be proven through a personal bank statement OR​

    • You can use a guarantor's (parent, guardian or other family member's) bank statement

Our Application Process

Below, you'll find an overview of our application process. We provide guidance along each step to ensure you're successful. The total process takes around 4 months.

  1. Submit your online application through our online application form

  2. Have a free screening interview

  3. Have a compliance interview with our New Zealand visa partners

  4. Pay your registration fee

  5. Have an interview with an employer and receive an offer

  6. Send your documents in preparation of your visa application

  7. Settle your program fees

  8. Upon visa approval, receive pre-arrival care, such as housing assistance, travel assistance and bank account setup

  9. Travel to New Zealand where you'll be picked up from the airport

  10. Travel within New Zealand to your employer and start your program

Program Costs

The program costs below outline all the costs associated with the 6 month internship program in New Zealand:

  • Program registration fee: $400. This fee is payable after you have passed your compliance interview with our New Zealand partners and is non-refundable.

  • Program Fees for nationalities inside the European Union: $1,400. This fee is payable after you have received your internship agreement from an employer.

  • Program Fees for all other nationalities: $2,700. This fee is split into two payments:

    • Placement payment: $1,700, payable after your internship agreement is signed​

    • Program fee: $1,000, only payable after your visa is approved

Exclusions:

  • Health insurance: +/- €300 (depends slightly on your age)

  • Embassy visa fee: €99

  • Flight to and from France
