Hello everyone, just a quick but important blog today: DOS. No not the pre windows/apple operating system, but the US Department of State (DOS).
All J-1 programs, Visa Sponsors and US Embassy's are overseen and regulated by the US DOS.Due to that, this J1Jargon comes up regularly in communication with sponsors and other parties, when applying and participating in your J-1 program.
US Department of State (DOS) is the government department in charge of diplomatic relations with other countries. At their diplomatic posts all over the world, foreign service officers interview applicants for visas to the United States. The Department of State issues visas to people to come to the United States to live, work, study, visit, or participate in special programs .
